PO County Comprehensive Plan

January 25, 2021 By CANSS Chair

CANSS wants to thank the Pend Oreille County Planning Commission for their due diligence in the Comprehensive Plan Rewrite and allowing time for public comment during January 21, 2021 Zoom meeting.  The Planning Commission continues moving forward in the process by making the draft available for public review at the Pend Oreille County Website https://pendoreilleco.org/2020-comprehensive-plan-update/

Landowners are encouraged to be well-informed of the proposed land use maps and zoning changes that could affect individual property zoning and tax evaluations. These changes could also guide the type of industries allowed in Pend Oreille County determining – “Who could be your neighbor?”  The newly proposed rewrite will change PacWest’s property designation from Public to Rural Residential presenting them with an opportunity to apply for a Conditional Use Permit for a specific use of their land.

We cannot stress enough how important it is for the Pend Oreille County Commissioners to be aware citizens are watching how they conduct business within the County.  Your comments do matter!

CANSS remains committed and stands ready with our attorney, Norm Semanko, to meet the zoning challenge ahead!  Stay Strong! No Newport Smelter!
